If You Need to Sell It, Consign It and Consider It Sold!
The first step in the consignment process is to provide us with pictures. Email furniture pictures for acceptance to: designerconsignmentkc@gmail.com, or drop off photos at the store. If you have a household of furniture, or several rooms to consign, it may be necessary for us to make an appointment for viewing in your home.
In addition to furniture we consign décor and accessories for every room in the home. We select Décor on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 1pm – 5pm. No appointment necessary, but a call ahead is appreciated.
Décor items must have at least a $10 value. If days other than those mentioned are needed, appointments can be made.
Information on Consignment at Designer Consignment
CLEAN
by removing dust, smudges and fingerprints and use furniture polish/repair products for minor imperfections. Furniture items, whether from the home or storage, must be cleaned thoroughly inside, outside, and from underneath. Furniture and miscellaneous items, have to be structurally sound - screws tightened, loose joints repaired. Décor items should be presented for acceptance dust free.
INSPECT
each item carefully. Cloth or upholstered items should have no tears, stains, or smoke odor. Chairs and Sofa Cushions must be swept out and all furniture must be cleaned underneath. Glass should have no cracks or chips and be in sparkling condition for display.
Our customers must know that each item they select is in working condition. For items needing light bulbs and batteries, consigners are asked to provide.
Customers rely on us for clean well-cared-for consignments. Consignments that have eye appeal, quality, and all of the above cleanliness details, are the items that usually sell within the first 30 days. It is to your advantage for pricing and quick-sell, that your items for consignment meet our requirements.
CONSIGNMENT TERMS
Designer Consignment operates within the Industry Standards and offers a 90-Day consignment with a 50/50 split. We use an automatic markdown system which provides a minimal reduction every 30 days. After 90 days, there are three options: Consigner may pick up any unsold items, or they will be reduced one more time, or they will be donated.
AFTER THE SALE
We have three pay periods per month. Consigner will be paid 50% of the selling price according to the pay period their item(s) were sold in.
